The next Distant Vote will be DV November 2017 (see attached schedule):
DV Nov 2017: Beginning August, 2017 and closing 30 November, 2017
**Motions for DV Nov2017 must be submitted by 31 July 2017
EXCO has some motions, and so this Distant Vote will be required.
To be included in the DV November 2017, motions must be sent to the Servas International President by July 31, 2017.
The procedure for member groups to put a motion on the agenda for the DV is described in Clause 7), Section VII: Distant Voting, of the SI Statutes.
"A motion for inclusion in the next Distant Vote may be submitted to the President when requested by at least one tenth of the member groups (represented by their National Secretaries), or by any member of the Executive Committee. All motions submitted by member groups must be sent to the President at least six months before the scheduled closing date for the vote to be included in a Distant Vote."
There are currently 77 member groups (list of member groups attached). To meet the ‘one tenth of the member groups’ requirement, eight (8) or more member groups must request that the motion is added to the DV agenda by July 31, 2017.
The list of motions will be sent to all member groups in early August 2017. Details related to the motions will be distributed by August 31, 2017.
To be eligible to vote in the DV November 2017, a Servas group must be a member group and must meet the following criteria by the deadline of September 15, 2017 (2 weeks before voting is scheduled to begin):
- 2016 Stamp Fees are paid
- At least one Annual Report submitted for 2015 or 2016
- A Host List updated since 2015
